notes are provided by parishioners: – mentality of assigning culpability – lack of known fact as a basis for rash judgment – God’s name is mercy and compassion – example of a man whose God did not require an arid explanation – failure is built into the system – joy in obedience – we live in a world of God’s mercy – freedom from shackles and restrictions – daring to live – not giving up on people – having patience with people – giving others a chance and accepting their differences – allowing others to grow and ourselves to enjoy the fullness of life.

Gospel: Luke 1:26-38 - 'You are to conceive and bear a son' ... “Behold, I am the handmaid of the Lord. May it be done to me according to your word.”

 

notes are provided by parishioners: – The Annunciation of the Lord) – Most Marian-centred Gospel of all – David [1st reading] leads to expectation of the Messiah – God speaks through prophet Nathan – God is the powerful Lord God of David’s people – does the Millennium Dome make a change in the nation? – Mary’s collaboration with God willingly and openly points the way for us – God came to save us but not to make life easy for us – No need to own power, have the body beautiful - just open up to the will of God – be vehicles for others’ faith in God – positive affirmation of others – speaking the truth in love [Paul] – Within our parish being a temple of God’s Holy Spirit.
