Trinity Sunday 2013 >> Feast of Christ the King > scroll down for required date | Advent 12 to Lent | Lent 13 to Pentecost
Ordinary Time (#2) 'Green time' in the church, for growth after the time of revelation, for continuing renewal and response to the good news from Jesus. Not so 'ordinary' but really the 'season of the Holy Spirit' ~ Fr. F. Harris R.I.P.

Trinity Sunday: By sending His Divine Word and sanctifying Spirit into the world, God has given us a glimpse of the great mystery we celebrate: that there is one God in three divine persons, the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit. In the depths of our being we are drawn to share in His life and love as we profess our faith in this mystery and adore our God.

26th May 2013 - Trinity Sunday - Year C - Gospel: John 16:12-15 'Everything the Father has is mine; all the Spirit tells you will be taken from what is mine' -
Homily by Fr. Philip Dyson, 9am Mass (9:03 mins) >>

[learning: 'Mystery is part of faith; The Holy Trinity is a relationship of love, a model for relating to each other; the relationship between Father, Son and Holy Spirit gives a glimpse into the inner life of God; The Spirit guides us on the way.'
[praying: 'for a deepening of your relationship with those you love.']

The Feast of Corpus Christi. We celebrate the gift of the Eucharist. Jesus, by giving us his Body and Blood, gave us the possibility of new life.

This recording finished prematurely, the ending is, "The Eucharist is also a source of our religious emotions. Towards the Blessed Sacrament we are drawn back to God in expressions of adoration, love, thanksgiving, asking and repentance, the first letter of these emotions spell ALTAR. Who is there before our gaze? It is the Lord. It is the Word of the Father, born of the flesh of the Blessed Virgin Mary, and now become the Bread of Life for us, to nourish and feed us. These three moments of divine presence can be expressed in our prayer: Word, made flesh, made bread. The Real Presence of God."

Pope Francis on the Gospel reading Catholic News Agency ... Jesus’ remarks in Sunday’s Gospel are challenging. -  this verse merits explanation to prevent misunderstanding. Jesus does not “wish to divide mankind against itself,” -  “On the contrary. Jesus is our peace and our reconciliation.” -  this peace is not “neutrality” or “compromise at all costs.” - “To follow Jesus requires renunciation of evil, of egoism, and choosing good, truth, justice. It also requires sacrifice and a renunciation of self-interest,” Pope Francis said Jesus does not divide. Rather, He establishes criteria: “live for self, or live for God and others; be served, or serve; obey self, or obey God.” - “And so in this sense Jesus is ‘a sign of contradiction’,” -  “The true strength of Christianity is the strength of faith, of love, that involves the renunciation of all violence.” - “Faith and violence are incompatible,” Pope Francis repeated twice for emphasis. “The Christian is not violent, but he is strong with the force of love.”
