• Penzance's excellent, ancient Cornish "Golowan" midsummer festival celebrated on the feast of St John the Baptist. Golowan comes from two elements: Goel + Yowann which translates as 'holiday / feast  of St John'. Revived in the early 1990's it is now a major community arts event  & now extends to over a week of events. Don't miss the 20th "Mazey Day" on Saturday, June 26th 2010 with fireworks late on the previous evening and the 'Quay Fair' on Sunday, June 27th. Hope to see you there.
