note. Some of the information below may be out of date following the
move in September 2007, of the previous head teacher Mrs H. Giblett, and
deputy head teacher Mr. J. Cosgrove, to new schools locally and in
Reading. We thank them for everything they have each contributed to St.
Mary's school over many years and wish them every success in the
future.
Updates will be added here when available. Contact the school if urgent.

The
Catholic Faith is central to the day to day life of our
school and to all aspects of the curriculum, it is not an
added extra which we offer our pupils. The curriculum is
based on a religious understanding of life, and the
principles of the Gospel permeate the life of our school.
It is
designed to enable pupils to grow in every way to
Christian maturity - towards a fuller understanding of
God and mankind. The school attaches great importance to
good relationships within the school community so there
is an environment within which pupils can prosper. In
delivering the curriculum the school recognizes the
uniqueness of each child and respects the value, dignity
and individuality of each child. The school is committed
to close collaboration both with parents and parish.
All
children are entitled to equal access to the National
Curriculum and Governors strive to achieve this in St.
Mary's School.

St. Mary's
R.C.Primary School exists to provide a stimulating,
quality learning environment and experience through
fostering a gospel-inspired living community based on
acceptance, affirmation, love and respect; inviting the
active participation of all.
We seek
to recognise, develop and celebrate that which makes us
fully human through ever deepening relationships with God
and each other, firmly rooted in the teaching of Jesus
Christ and nourished through prayer and worship.
We value
co-operation, openness and trust, leading to confidence,
appreciation of all our gifts, culminating in a sense of
self-worth, responsibility and true belonging.
We will
strive to help children achieve their full potential,
working towards excellence as an expression of personal
dignity and fulfillment.
