Justice, Peace & Reconciliation: Corrymeela Conference & Worship - Exeter 14/15 March 2009
The Corrymeela Community is a residential centre on the Antrim coast of Northern Ireland founded in 1965 as a Christian centre for reconciliation in Ireland. Its logo describes it now as: 'Committed to reconciliation in Ireland and throughout the world'. Their experience has much to teach us about conflict resolution and living with difference. For further information, please visit www.corrymeela.org

(from archives)
A new initiative is being launched to encourage parishes to reach out to non church-going (lapsed) Catholics. Called "Where are they now?", the project aims to equip Catholics to extend an invitation to those who, for many different reasons, have stopped attending Church. It is sponsored by the Catholic Agency to Support Evangelisation (CASE) which has sent resource packs to every parish and religious house in the Diocese and across England and Wales. The hope is that it will complement the outreach ministries already started in the diocese.

A Prayer to Padre Pio -
(more)
Beloved Padre Pio, today I come to add my prayer to the thousands of prayers offered to you every day by those who love and venerate you. They ask for cures and healings, earthly and spiritual blessings, and peace for body and mind. And because of your friendship with the Lord, he heals those you ask to be healed, and forgives those you forgive.
Through your visible wounds of the Cross, which you bore for 50 years, you were chosen in our time to glorify the crucified Jesus. Because the Cross has been replaced by other symbols, please help us to bring it back in our midst, for we acknowledge it is the only true sign of salvation.
As we lovingly recall the wounds that pierced your hands, feet and side, we not only remember the blood you shed in pain, but your smile, and the invisible halo of sweet smelling flowers that surrounded your presence, the perfume of sanctity.
Padre Pio, may the healings of the sick become the testimony that the Lord has invited you to join the holy company of Saints. In your kindness, please help me with my own special request: (mention here your petition, and make the sign of the Cross).
Bless me and my loved ones. In the name of the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit. Amen.."

Daily Novena Prayer to St Joseph. Feast day 19th March:- now online
Almighty God, you have chosen Saint Joseph to be the mainstay of Jesus and Mary, the wise and faithful servant in whom they could trust. We pray that he may truly be the guardian of your Church; that he may inspire with confidence those who are devoted to him; that he may give security to those who work in the vineyard of Your Son; and finally, that he may be a source of strength to us, who wish, like him, to dedicate ourselves to Christ's service, now and in times to come. Amen.

Please continue to pray for an end to all wars, violence, injustice and famine
Strong and merciful God,
You crush wars and overthrow the proud;
banish violence from the Middle East
and wipe away the tears of those who suffer.
May all men and women, made in Your image and likeness,
find in Your love and mercy, a pattern for their lives.
We ask this through Our Lord Jesus Christ, Your Son,
who lives and reigns with you in the unity of the Holy Spirit,
God for ever and ever, Amen

PEACE  PEACE  PEACE - A prayer by Mother Teresa

"We are all pencils in the hand of a writing God, who is sending love letters to the world". ~ Mother Teresa

"Peace is not the product of terror or fear. Peace is not the silence of cemeteries. Peace is not the silent result of violent repression. Peace is the generous, tranquil contribution of all to the good of all. Peace is dynamism. Peace is generosity. It is right and it is duty." Oscar Romero

"Peace, peace, peace and only peace! Peace must reign between God and man and also between men!"
MIR - PEACE - SHALOM |More Medjugore messages

Prayer Attributed to St. Augustine: Watch, dear Lord, with those who wake or watch or weep tonight, and give your angels charge over those who sleep. Tend your sick ones, O Lord Jesus Christ, rest your weary ones, bless your dying ones, soothe your suffering ones, shield your joyous ones, and all for your love’s sake. Amen.

In November, our prayers focus on the souls of our deceased family, friends and others. Many continue this throughout the year especially remembering those who have no one left to pray for them. Bereavement page

The Beginning Experience is a peer group ministry for those who are grieving the loss of someone through separation, divorce or bereavement. Two weekends are held each year at St. Rita's Centre, Honiton, Devon. Following a weekend last April, the next one is on 28-30 September 2007. More information is available from Rose Teh on 01626 330962 or Marguerite Duncan on 01395 266694.
