March 28, 1985 "Dear children! Today I wish to call you to pray, pray, pray! In prayer you shall perceive the greatest joy and the
way out of every situation that has no exit. Thank you for starting up prayer. Each individual is dear to my heart. And I
thank all who have urged prayer in their families. Thank you for having responded to my call."
November 25, 1992 "Dear Children! Today, more than ever, I am calling you to pray. May your life become a continuous prayer. Without love you cannot pray. That is why I am calling you to love God, the Creator of your lives, above everything else. Then you will come to know God and will love Him in everything as He loves you. Dear children, it is a grace that I am with you. That is why you should accept and live my messages for your own good. I love you and that is why I am with you, in order to teach you and to lead you to a new life of conversion and renunciation. Only in this way will you discover God and all that which now seems so far away from you. Therefore, my dear children, pray. Thank you for having responded to my call."

"When you pray, rather let your heart be without words than your
words be without heart."
". . . Prayer is the best weapon we have; it is the key to God's heart. You must speak to Jesus not only with your lips but with your heart. In fact on certain occasions you should speak to him only with your heart." Padre
Pio.
Brothers and sisters: The Spirit comes to the aid of our
weakness; for we do not know how to pray as we ought, but the Spirit himself intercedes with inexpressible groanings. And the one who searches hearts knows what is the intention of the Spirit, because he intercedes for the holy ones according to God¢s will.

A new initiative is being launched
to encourage parishes to reach out to non church-going (lapsed) Catholics.
Called "Where are they now?", the
project aims to equip Catholics to extend an invitation to those who,
for many different reasons, have stopped attending Church. It is sponsored
by the Catholic Agency to Support Evangelisation (CASE) which has sent
resource packs to every parish and religious house in the Diocese and
across England and Wales. The hope is that it will complement the outreach
ministries already started in the diocese. read

A Prayer to Padre Pio - (more)
Beloved Padre Pio, today I come to add my prayer to the thousands of
prayers offered to you every day by those who love and venerate you. They
ask for cures and healings, earthly and spiritual blessings, and peace for
body and mind. And because of your friendship with the Lord, he heals
those you ask to be healed, and forgives those you forgive.
Through your visible wounds of the Cross, which you bore for 50 years, you
were chosen in our time to glorify the crucified Jesus. Because the Cross
has been replaced by other symbols, please help us to bring it back in our
midst, for we acknowledge it is the only true sign of salvation.
As we lovingly recall the wounds that pierced your hands, feet and side,
we not only remember the blood you shed in pain, but your smile, and the
invisible halo of sweet smelling flowers that surrounded your presence,
the perfume of sanctity.
Padre Pio, may the healings of the sick become the testimony that the Lord
has invited you to join the holy company of Saints. In your kindness,
please help me with my own special request: (mention here your petition,
and make the sign of the Cross).
Bless me and my loved ones. In the name of the Father, the Son and the
Holy Spirit. Amen.."

Novena Prayer to St Joseph.
Feast day (2008) 15th March usually
19th March:-
Almighty God, you have chosen Saint Joseph to be the mainstay of Jesus
and
Mary, the wise and faithful servant in whom they could trust.
We pray that he may truly be the guardian of your Church; that he
may
inspire with confidence those who are devoted to him; that he may
give
security to those who work in the vineyard of Your Son; and finally, that
he
may be a source of strength to us, who wish, like him, to dedicate
ourselves
to Christ's service, now and in times to come. Amen.

and merciful God,
You crush wars and overthrow the proud;
banish violence from the Middle East
and wipe away the tears of those who suffer.
May all men and women, made in Your image and likeness,
find in Your love and mercy, a pattern for their lives.
We ask this through Our Lord Jesus Christ, Your Son,
who lives and reigns with you in the unity of the Holy Spirit,
God for ever and ever, Amen

Prayer
Attributed to St. Augustine: Watch,
dear Lord, with those who wake or watch or weep tonight, and give your
angels charge over those who sleep. Tend your sick ones, O Lord Jesus
Christ, rest your weary ones, bless your dying ones, soothe your suffering
ones, shield your joyous ones, and all for your love’s sake. Amen.
In
November, our prayers focus on the souls of our deceased family, friends
and others. Many continue this throughout the year especially remembering
those who have no one left to pray for them. Bereavement
