How well do you know your
faith? How well do you know scripture? How
confident are you in discussing your faith with others, even your
family? We all need to know the Lord better, we all need to become
even closer to him before that day when we shall see him as he
really is! It is more difficult to really love someone that we do
not know personally or that we do not know very well. It is very
difficult to justify your faith to others if you are unsure of the
true facts or that you cannot articulate them when asked. In order
that we should all become more aware of the beauty and depth of the
great grace of our faith, Pope Benedict has declared a Year of
Faith to mark the 50th Anniversary of the opening of the Second
Vatican Council.
The Year of Faith

with the IHS motive making up the sail. IHS representing the name
of Jesus and also recalling the legend that Constantine, the Roman
Emperor, saw a vision of the Cross surrounded by the words ‘in hoc
signo vinces’ in this sign you will conquer.
